Praying For Your Future Spouse
Day 1 : Their Salvation And Heart
I come to you today in the name of Jesus on behalf of my future spouse. I come Lord because you bid me come and I know that you love when I come to you in prayer. Father, I ask that you would cleanse from my sins and I repent right now in the name of Jesus that my prayers may not be hindered in any way at this time. I pray that this prayer may find my future spouse wherever they are.
Lord, your Word tells me that you so loved the world that you gave your one and only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him would not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Father, I thank you that the blood of Jesus was shed on Calvary for my future spouse and pray that this blood would cover (him/her) right now in the name of Jesus. I pray for my future spouse’s salvation and pray that (he/she) would confess that Jesus is Lord. I praise you and thank you that (he/she) has been justified by your grace and is an heir of your kingdom according to the hope of eternal life (he/she) has in you (Titus 3:7). Lord God, I pray that you would save (him/her) for your glory and your name’s sake because you are not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). And because you first loved (him/her), I pray that (he/she) would also love you and desire a deep intimate relationship with you. Let (him/her) never be satisfied until (he/she) has made a covenant with you and given (his/her) heart over to you. I pray that (he/she) would willingly and joyfully give (his/her) heart to you each and every day and that (he/she) would have no other love other than you. May you always be first in (his/her) life in the name of Jesus and by the power of His blood.
I pray that (his/her) relationship with you would be based on love, trust, faith, obedience, honesty, and faithfulness. I thank you Lord that my future spouse is divinely connected to you and has an expectation in Heaven. I declare in the name of Jesus that (he/she) has a new heart, a heart of flesh and a new spirit that are in complete and total alignment with your heart and Spirit.
I thank you Lord that you are preparing (his/her) heart for mine as you are preparing mine for (his/her) right now in anticipation of our union so that our marriage may be all that you have called it to be, a true representation on earth of your love for your bride, the church. I pray that my future spouse would keep (his/her) heart pure at all times, filled with your truth and that nothing would defile (him/her). May (he/she) learn to guard (his/her) heart with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23). I pray in the name of Jesus that (he/she) would fix (his/her) heart on you and praise you forevermore (Psalms 57:7). May you O Lord forever be the strength of (his/her) heart and may (he/she) always keep a merry heart because the joy of the Lord is in (him/her). May you also grant (him/her) the desires of (his/her) heart as (he/she) delights (himself/herself) in you each and every day. I thank you that you love (him/her) and that you have heard and already answered my prayers. I stand in the gap for my future spouse right now and believe that you have already done it all because you are faithful. I thank you that (he/she) is a true (man/woman) after your own heart.
In Jesus’ Name,
Becoming The One
Now that you have prayed for your future spouse’s salvation and heart, I want you to meditate on yours by answering a few questions. Journal your answers and ask God to reveal the truth to you.
- Are you saved? Do you truly believe in your heart that Jesus died for you? Do you ever have doubts about this?
- Have you given your heart to God? Not just once but every day.
- How often do you tell God that you love Him? Not because of what He can do for you but simply because He is God.
- What can you do today to purify your heart? Is there someone that you need to forgive (maybe even someone you have cut off all ties with, maybe an ex, maybe a family member or a friend, a colleague, or simply someone who offended you or showed a lack of kindness, patience, or compassion towards you)?
Now read the next scriptures and make them your earnest prayer.
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. – Ezekiel 36:26 KJV
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. – Psalms 51:10 KJV
