Never Forgotten

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, yet I will not forget you.” – Isaiah 49:15 CSB

I remember it like it was yesterday. I watched a movie which left a lasting impression on me. I was flipping through the channels when I saw a woman frantically crying and looking for her baby. Everyone around her thought she was crazy. She was surrounded by nurses and other patients in a home and the caretakers seemed to think she had lost all reason. Apparently, she was suffering from loss of memory, did not know who she was yet somehow believed she was a mother and had lost a child. The nurse attempted to calm her down and reassured her that she had never been pregnant let alone had a baby. Yet, this woman insisted she had a baby.

I’ll spare you the details of the movie but in the end, this woman indeed had had a child, a little girl who was stolen from her at birth. Running to search for her child, she had been hit by a car and lost her memory but somehow she could never forget that she had given birth to a child. She never forgot her.

Like this woman in the movie, God cannot forget you nor your prayers. Many times, we pray for something and don’t get an immediate answer. Other times, God seems perfectly silent. After a while, we begin to believe that we either don’t matter to God or He has forgotten all about us, perhaps is too busy to care. Yet, like this mother who could not forget the fruit of her womb, God is even more incapable of forgetting about you.

Whatever you’ve prayed about, know that God has heard your prayers and you will soon receive your answer. Like Daniel, who was faithful to God and still had to wait twenty-one days for the answer to his prayers, your answer is on the way. However, you must be patient.  Your twenty-one days will soon be over but wherever you are in your 21-day-wait trust that your loving Father has seen you in your prayer closet and has taken notice of your desires. The same God who always showed up for Daniel will show up at the right time for you as well.

To my singles at Single Saved and Secure, God knows what you have prayed about and He will answer. Whatever your situation may be spiritual, physical, financial, etc. God has not forgotten about you. You are never forgotten because He loves you too much to forget you.
Heavenly Father,
I have been feeling deeply forgotten, not only by this world but also by you. I know that what I feel is different from reality. At times, I wonder if I matter to you and if you care enough to answer my prayers. Please forgive me for doubting you and questioning your ways. Help me to trust you and your timing. Help me to live beyond my feelings and hold on to the truth I find in your Word. Fill my heart with joy, peace and help me to rejoice in your presence. You said “seek my face” so your face I seek Lord. Teach me how to put my trust in you, hope in you and praise you even in times like these when I struggle to remember your faithfulness. Thank you for being a true Father and reassuring me of your love, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
