Praying For Your Future Spouse : Day 5 : Their Finances

Praying For Your Future Spouse
Day 5: Their Finances

Father God, I thank you today for my future spouse and the abundant blessings that you have for (him/her). I pray right now that (his/her) finances would always be in order; that (his/her) bank accounts would overflow even as (he/she) gives abundantly to your work and to others. I pray that my future spouse would be a good steward especially when it comes to (his/her) finances and be faithful in returning to you tithe and offerings. May (his/her) giving be as abundant as (he/she) has received. Where (he/she) lacks financial wisdom, I pray that you would provide (him/her) with help and resources to gain understanding in this area. May everything that my future spouse finds to do with (his/her) hands prosper for your glory and honor and may (his/her) earnings multiply. I pray in the name of Jesus that my future spouse would be wise in spending. Where my future spouse has failed to be wise, I pray that you would bring restoration and clear guidance. I pray that my future spouse would never lack yet not be anxious about money in any way and that (he/she) remembers to put you first at all times.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Becoming The One

Now that you have prayed for your future spouse’s finances, I want you to consider your own. Journal your answers and ask God to reveal the truth to you.

  • Would you consider yourself a good steward when it comes to money?
  • How faithful are you in returning tithe (a tenth) and offerings?
  • Are you a big spender? Do you shop for what you want more than what you need?
  • Do you have and keep a budget to begin with?
  • Are you constantly struggling in your finances?

Now read the next scriptures (paying close attention to underlined words) and then ask God to restore your finances to what He desires them to be, to give a generous heart and help you to be faithful.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now and herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. – Malachi 3:10 KJV

Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. – Luke 12:22 KJV

Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion. Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour, this is the gift of God. – Ecclesiastes 5:18-19 KJV

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, it is more blessed to give than to receive. – Acts 20:35 KJV

Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s and unto God the things which be God’s. – Luke 20:25 KJV
